1 Peter 5:7
Like many of us, Peter's weighed down by shame from his past mistakes. He couldn't hug Jesus despite seeing him twice. Guilt kept him chained. The charcoal fire brings back memories of Peter's denial. Jesus wants Peter to face his past, not ignore it. By recreating the scene, Jesus helps Peter heal. Jesus asks Peter three times if he loves him. It's not just about love; it's about action. Jesus is inviting Peter into a deeper relationship by giving him a task. Don't run from your past. Face it, process it, and let God's restoration work in your brokenness. Jesus' interaction with Peter shows us that our failures don't define us. We can rise from defeat with Jesus' help. The resurrection empowers us to move forward, leaving our past behind. Let's humbly submit to Jesus, embracing His grace as we move towards a brighter future.
