2 Peter 3:9
Have you ever felt the urgency of a situation and wondered why help didn’t come immediately? The first part of Lazarus’ story offers a profound lesson on divine timing and trust in God’s plan. When Jesus receives news that His dear friend Lazarus is gravely ill, His response is unexpected: He waits. How often do we expect immediate action, only to be called to trust and wait on God’s timing? Jesus’ decision to delay His visit is not due to a lack of love or concern. Instead, He explains that Lazarus’ illness “is for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.” This teaches us that delays in our urgent situations can have a greater purpose that we might not immediately understand. What does it take to trust in God’s timing, especially when faced with urgency and grief? This part of Lazarus’ story encourages us to have faith in God’s greater plan. How can you cultivate patience and trust that God’s timing is perfect?
