Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday

Passion Week begins with Jesus’ triumphal entry. The multitude welcomes Jesus like a king as He rides in humbly on a donkey.

Psalm 5:11
Jesus told His friends to get a donkey, which confused them. But Jesus needed to ride into Jerusalem on one to fulfill old prophecies and show that He was humble, not about power. Back then, life was tough for the Jewish people. Rome ruled them hard, taxing them lots and destroying their freedom and identity. The prophets hoped for a hero, a king from Abraham and David's line, to save them from Rome. They thought Jesus would be their warrior king, but He came humbly, riding a donkey instead of a horse. He didn't use force to win but love and sacrifice. He knew what was coming but still went to Jerusalem, facing danger and criticism. Jesus didn't act proud, even though He deserved praise. He showed humility, balancing it with strength. We can learn from Jesus to be confident yet humble, to serve others with kindness, and not seek power for ourselves.
