Romans 2:4
Have you ever judged someone based on their past actions? Zacchaeus, a tax collector despised for his dishonesty, climbed a sycamore tree to catch a glimpse of Jesus. Despite Zacchaeus’ reputation, Jesus called him down and chose to stay at his house. This act of acceptance led to Zacchaeus' repentance and transformation (Luke 19:1-10). This story teaches us the power of acceptance and seeing beyond someone’s past. Jesus didn’t label Zacchaeus; instead, He saw his potential for change. How often do we write people off because of their past mistakes? Do we overlook their potential to change and grow? If it weren’t for Jesus, Zacchaeus would have remained in his sin. But Jesus’ acceptance and love brought about a profound transformation in his life. Are there people in your life that you have labeled or written off? How can you extend grace and see their potential for redemption?
