Luke 24:27
Two of Jesus' followers journeyed from Jerusalem to Emmaus, a village about seven miles away. They hoped He would save Israel, but His death crushed their hope. While walking, they meet a stranger. At first, they don’t know it’s Jesus. This shows how we sometimes miss Jesus, especially when we're sad or confused. He's with us, even if we don't see Him. Though they don't recognize Jesus, they're eager to learn from Him. He explains the Scriptures, showing how the Messiah had to suffer before glory. Jesus reveals He's the promised Messiah and the center of all Scripture. The big moment happens when Jesus breaks bread with them. Suddenly, they see Him for who He is. This teaches us about Communion, where we remember Jesus. It urges us to see Jesus in simple things and in Communion. The Emmaus journey is like our faith journey. We might start confused, but walking with Jesus opens our eyes. After recognizing Jesus, they hurry back to tell others.
